Has it been a good year already? For the last one year, I have been using this theme (screenshot on the left) for my blog. It was a nice brown leather diary with genuine cotton stitching. The dates were popping out on genuine leather tabs. It was a very warm and pleasing look. I had fallen in love with the look and feel.
But it is a bit cramped, especially in the side bar. So I am going to change the theme. I see that these days many of the blogs I like online seem to have a two column format, with the right sidebar being pretty wide. That is the format I would like for my blog too. And I will keep it white this time. It is easier on the eyes and blends pictures well without a border.
I also plan to move the sharing buttons to a floating toolbar on the left. Now that I see more traffic coming to my blog, I suppose it is important to get on the social media bandwagon as well. I will try to document how I adjust my theme as I go along, hoping that it will be useful to newbie bloggers to set up their blogs the same way as well. If you are a newbie (or experienced) blogger who wants to copy this new format or have any question regarding the new theme that I do not cover in my blog entries, please ask. I am glad to answer any questions.
I have looked a bit, and I even found that most of the popular free themes on wordpress are white two column themes. But the right side bar on the free themes are not wide enough for my taste. The only good free one I found even close somehow does not show the pictures when I preview it.
But the decision has been made. I will change the theme asap. As soon as I find a good one. See you on the other side.
