Financial Glossary:
His world renown hypertextual financial glossary is used by The New York Times, Forbes, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, CNNMoney and Yahoo.
The book version of the glossary, The New York Times Dictionary of Money and Investing is coauthored with Pulitzer Prize winner, Gretchen Morgenson. Prof Harvey writes for The Street and is author of the popular blog The Garden Of Econ.
The glossary, which is the most comprehensive in the world, contains over 8,000 terms and over 18,000 internal links. This glossary has been available as an iPhone app since 2009. Today it is available for the iPad as well. The iPhone version is being replaced by the iPad/iPhone version and is not a free upgrade. (See below for instructions on what you can do if you already bought the original iPhone version.)
Three Levels to Try and Buy:
This new version features three levels. The first level is a free download of 200 plus financial terms and definitions. The second level is a 99 cent upgrade using in-App purchase. This increases the list of terms to over 500. Both these levels do not have hyperlinks. The hyperlinked level (level three) is activated by an in-App purchase of $9.99.
This level three is the equivalent of the fully paid old iPhone app. If you already purchased the old app paying $9.99, and would like to get to level three on this app, please follow these instructions:
- Be prepared to prove that you have purchased the original app.
- Send an email to camh@lookitup4me.com requesting the upgrade.
- Follow the instructions in the response.
- Please allow a few days for the entire process to complete.
App Features:
- Works on iPad and on iPhone
- Allows you to search all the terms
- Allows you to share your favorite definitions on facebook
- Give feedback to Prof Harvey through the app
- In-app shortcut to the Garden of Econ blog
The app was built by Look It Up 4 Me, Inc who have a very clear and simple philosophy – “simple is best”.
